VISA & HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
Tanzania has lifted its ban for international flights with effect from 18th May 2020. Therefore, travellers who wish to visit Tanzania are warmly welcome. however, all travellers will be abided by the Travel Advisory healthy Tips as issued by the Ministry of Health.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
According to the Travel Advisory No. 5 of 5th August, 2020 issued by the Ministry of Health-Tanzania:
- All travellers whether foreigners or returning residents entering or leaving the United Republic of Tanzania will be subjected to enhanced screening for COVID19 infection. There will be no 14 days mandatory quarantine upon arrival.
Any foreigner seeking to enter the United Republic of Tanzania is subject to the following entry requirements:
- A passport or Travel Document which is valid for not less than six months;
- A Residence Permit or a Pass or his name is endorsed upon the same;
- A valid Visa (where applicable) from any Tanzania Mission abroad or on arrival at any designated entry points.

TRAVEL INSURANCE - ZIC
All non-resident visitors to Zanzibar are required to have travel insurance specifically issued by the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). It costs USD 44 per adult (children 3–17 years: USD 22; infants under 3: free), with coverage up to 92 days, and covers:
- Emergency medical treatment (hospitalization, evacuation, repatriation)
- Personal accident, liability, legal costs

Entry authorization
Upon complying with the entry requirements, a visitor may be issued a Visa or a Visitor's Pass with a validity of not more than three months (or up to six months for citizens of EAC Member States).
